Arom
Arom is a French duo known for their eclectic blend of trip-hop and indie pop, characterized by a fusion of groovebox beats, synthesizers, and genre-spanning elements like trip-rock, soul, and acid jazz. Their sound is distinguished by smooth yet experimental arrangements, often grounded by a "straight drum" rhythm, and features both French and English vocals that draw comparisons to the ethereal style of Björk. With three full-length albums, Arom's music has garnered attention for its ability to explore a wide array of sonic landscapes while maintaining a cohesive artistic identity.
The project is helmed by Dominik, who is responsible for the intricate and atmospheric musical compositions, and Caroline, whose captivating vocals serve as the heart of the duo's sound. Their partnership began in 1997 when they met as students at the Conservatoire and Theater University in Paris, bonding over their shared passion for music and creative expression.
